AMD 2 - Kultur

Für AMD2 habe ich ein paar Youtube videos über deutsche Kultur und Einwanderung gesehen. Ein video war ein Interview von ein Mann heisst Thilo Sarrazin (ich meine er ist ein Funktionär von Bundesbankvorstand) über warum deutsche Kultur stribt (supposedly). Er hat ein Buch, >>Deutschland Schafft Sich Ab- Wie wir unser Land aufs Spiel setzen<< (~Germany threatens itself: How we put our country at risk.) geschreibt. Er denkt das zu viel Einwanderung sind in Deutschland gekommen. Auch viele Türken heiraten einander und erhalten ihre Kultur, sondern die deutsche Leute hat weniger Kinder und ihre Kultur stirbt (nach seiner Meinung). Es ist eine angespannte Lage, weil es viele Meinungen gibt. Die Youtube Bemerkungen waren auch interessant (unusually so, given that most English comments on the site seem to be rather lacking in substantive quality). Ein Person sagte >>ich liebe diesen mann ....er sagt das was viele deutsche denken nur sich nicht trauen weil sie dann als nazi abgestempelt werden<< (In the U.S., people who refer to immigrant groups as inbred after three generations are typically thought of as skinheads. The parallel in Europe is not particularly surprising, though substantially disconcerting nonetheless). Ein andere Person sagte, >> Europa ist vielfältig und nicht homogen. Bosnien, das Kosovo, Albanien sind größtenteils muslimisch oder haben große islam. Minderheiten. Europa ist mehr als Du glauben willst, denken musst...Europa ist bunt und geil. Gib Extremisten keine Chance.<< I understand the psychological threat to the native culture immigration and declining birthrates must pose to European countries, but it is also a bit disturbing to see the reactions they take to the situation. The recent shooting spree in Norway serves as a stark example of the importance of being especially wary of these sorts of rigid conservative ideologies. It is of course easy to take the viewpoint that pluralism is valuable when one lives in a country like the U.S. or Canada as both countries lack substantially homogenized ethnic culture of their own to begin with (though Canada arguably has the French Quebec culture, and only within the past few decades has seen really substantial Asian and other world immigration).

Ich habe ein Deutsche Welle video über deutsche Kultur in Vietnam auch gesehen. Ich lernte, dass über 100.000 Vietnamesen in Deutschland leben, und anscheinend in Vietnam ist deutsche Kultur überaus beliebt. Ein Grund ist dass Vietnamesen menschen haben in die DDR gelernt. - At least, that is one reason given by a woman at the Goethe institute in Hanoi, among others, but one that I found particularly interesting and had never considered before- the connection between communist/socialist countries during the Soviet Era was more extensive than I expected. I assumed that the Warsaw Pact and Asian nations like North Korea and Vietnam would have had virtually no contact aside from perhaps export of weapons. The USSR of course had extensive influence on all the communist countries, including ones as far flung as Cuba, but I had assumed the individual proxy states it influenced would not have interacted much beyond their immediate neighbors. Anscheinend studieren viele Vietnamesen Kinder Deutsch; es ist ein bisschen kommisch nach meiner Meinung, aber auch ein bisschen geil.

I honestly had no idea how interconnected cultures across the world could be, aside from the obvious media influence of the U.S. and Britain. The video also featured cultural exchange like Doener Kebab stands in the streets of Hanoi, which I found quite amusing.
